Vitali: Haye is going to have to wait for me to fight him

vitali223By Scott Gilfoid: WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KO’s) says he plans on continuing his boxing career, and will be defending his title next against his mandatory challenger, which will be the winner of the Chris Arreola vs. Bermane Stiverne fight.

As far Vitali fighting former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s), Vitali says Haye blew his chance when he offered him the fight last September by turning it down.

Vitali said to the bbc.co.uk “He [Haye didn’t take the proposal, and right now if David wants to fight, he has to wait because I have to defend my title against official contender, and after that maybe if David Haye has a high position in the world rankings, we can fight each other, but definitely it will not be soon.”

David Haye willing to fight for mandatory position to get shot against Klitschkos

haye454By Allan Fox: With the Klitschko brothers having zero interest in facing former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s), it’s pretty clear that the only way Haye will ever be able to get a shot against one of them again is if he fights to become their mandatory challenger rather than continually pleading with them to give him a fight.

Haye, #1 WBA, #4 WBO, #5 WBC, has finally gotten the message that the best way to force the Klitschkos to face him is to fight to become the mandatory for one of them. In doing so they’ll have to agree to fight him, vacate or retire.

Haye would be smart to focus on going after Wladimir because Vitali would likely retire if Haye got to the mandatory position for his trap, and it’ll take at least a year to get there because there are four other heavyweights ranked above him by the World Boxing Council.

Are the Klitschko’s running scared of Tyson Fury?

fury544By Bradley Swaine: In my view, unbeaten Tyson Fury (20-0 14 KO’s) is the best prospect in the heavyweight division bar none. The Question is have the Klitschko’s seen too much of Tyson Fury to get in the ring with him.

I think when it comes to the Klitschko’s everyone knows as great as they are they like to cherry pick there opponents for example Wladimir Klitschko (59-3 50ko) has an upcoming fight against italian hopeful Francesco Pianeta (28-0 15ko) a fight in which the result is inevitable another knockout for Klitschko against a man who’s best win is over a 40+ overweight Frans Botha.

Haye missed his chance against Vitali

haye4543By Steven Ocallaghan: It looks like time has ran out on David Haye finally getting a crack at long time WBC heavyweight world champ Vitali Klitschko. Vitali had said that the deal was on the table for Haye but he turned that down. Haye had unfinished business with Derrick Chisora, so I can understand why that fight didn’t happen. The thing I can’t understand is why Vitali was willing to fight Haye last year but not now, so what is different?

Vitali is now 41 years old, 9 years older than Haye. Vitali is becoming more injury prone now. When Klitschko lost his first fight in defending his WBO heavyweight title against Chris Byrd, nearly 13 years ago, he dislocated his shoulder and the fight was then stopped. Vitali was easily winning the fight. If Vitali had managed to continue and lost all remaining rounds he would still have won the fight.

Vitali Klitschko closes the door on David Haye fight

vitali4353By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye can finally retire because WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KO’s) says Haye had his chance to fight him and he failed to take it. Vitali is moving on.

Speaking with boxingnews.ua, Vitali said “David Haye was able to fight me on 10 September 2012 in Moscow. He was sent to all contracts. The Briton only had to sign them. David refused. The David Haye train has left.”

Well, there it is. That’s the news that Haye needed to finally retire from boxing because Vitali is saying Haye had his chance to take the fight and failed to sign the contract.

Haye works with Ukrainian paper to get Vitali fight

haye#49By Scott Gilfoid: Showing signs of getting ever more desperate for a fight against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye has reportedly chosen to send a message to the Ukrainian newspaper Vzglyad in an effort to pressure Vitali to fight him by trying to create a huge public demand for the fight in Vitali’s native Ukraine.

According to thesun.co.uk, Haye said “This position [of WBC heavyweight champion] carries the obligation to fight strong contenders who the public identify. That person is now me. You the Ukrainian sports fans know it, I know it, and Vitali knows it. You can help make this happen. Tell Vitali to stand up and represent his people, fight me and honor the wishes of the Ukrainian.“

Haye: Beating the Klitschkos for their heavyweight titles is the only thing I haven’t done

haye674By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) has won world titles at cruiserweight and heavyweight, but he’s not beaten the Klitschko brothers yet, and that remains his last goal before he retires from boxing. Haye wants to beat WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, and then his little brother IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko when he attempts to avenge Vitali’s loss once Haye has beaten him.

Wladimir has already beaten Haye by a lopsided 12 round decision two years ago, but he says he fought with a broken toe and that kept him from fighting at high enough level to get the win.

Haye: Vitali is a kind of a puppet for Boente

vitali34454 - CopyBy Scott Gilfoid: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye believes that WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko isn’t the one that picks his opponents out. Haye thinks it’s Vitali’s manager Bernd Boente who chooses his opponents for him rather than Vitali stepping up and saying he wants this or that guy.

Haye feels that Boente doesn’t want Vitali to face him for some reason. It’s hard to understand why Boente would want Vitali to not to face Haye because it’s easily the biggest money fight out there for Vitali right now, and it’s also a winnable one. We saw what Vitali’s brother Wladimir Klitschko did to Haye two years ago in an easy 12 round unanimous decision.

Haye: If Vitali fights one more time, it’s going to be against me

haye#2By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) doesn’t know if WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko will ever fight again, but if he does he thinks it’s going to be against him. Haye feels he earned the shot against Vitali by destroying fellow Brit Dereck Chisora last year in July in a 5th round TKO.

Before that, Vitali’s manager had said if he wanted to fight Vitali, he should face Chisora and beat him. Haye took at him literally and went ahead and faced Chisora and made easy work with him.

It’s not as if there wasn’t anything in writing and it wasn’t Vitali who told Haye to fight Chisora, so it really doesn’t matter that Haye beat Chisora. He’s still likely not going to get the fight with Vitali.

Fury on The Klitschkos

fury34234By Steven Ocallaghan: So British heavyweight contender Tyson Fury thinks Wladimir and Vitali Klitchko are bad for boxing. I completely disagree. If we look at the brothers records they have ruled the division for the best part of a decade.

Vitali came back fom injury after a long layoff and regained the title easily. The problem with the brothers doesn’t lie with them, it lies with contenders.

The one thing about the brothers is their genuine respect of the game and their opponents. A couple of years ago Wladimir was asked about Britain up and comers and had nothing but praise for them, even with all the mud slinging by David Haye, they till got on with their businesses and in the end took care of David Haye.
