By Allan Fox: Former WBC light middleweight champion Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora (25-3-2, 8 KO’s) has a chance of facing WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin (30-0, 22 KO’s) next, according to Dan Rafael of ESPN and Steve Kim. Quillin, 30, needs a well known opponent for his next title defense, and the #10 WBA Mora definitely serves that purpose given his vast experience during his 14-year pro career.
Quillin is coming off of a 10th round stoppage win over challenger Gabriel Rosado last October in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The fight was halted due to a cut that Rosado had suffered. However, Rosado was really taking the fight to Quillin at the time of the stoppage, and he had shaken Quillin up in the 9th round with some big shots.

By Allan Fox: Former WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio “Latin Snake” Mora (23-3-2, 7 KO’s) will be taking a dangerous fight this month against 28-year-old former EBU middleweight champion Grzegorz Proksa (29-2, 21 KO’s) in a scheduled 10 round bout at the Veteran’s Coliseum in Jacksonville, Florida. Mora has lost two out of his last three fights, both to Brian Vera. Mora badly needs a win over Proksa to try and get back into the thick of things in the middleweight division because he’s been out of the picture for a long time.
