By Jason Kim: You want to pull for the underdog Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) in his March 19th fight against the towering 6’7″ 250 pound WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) when they fight at the Lanxess-Arena, in Cologne, Germany. However, at 6’1″ and a hefty 260 lbs, Solis has about a good a chance of winning as I do on winning the lottery tonight. It’s just not going to happen. Giving away six inches in height and much more than in terms of power and experience against upper level opposition, Solis just doesn’t have the physical tools to get this job done.
Odlanier Solis
Haye hoping Vitali doesn’t lose to Solis, says that Vitali has gotten old
By William Mackay: WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) has plans on fighting both Klitschko brothers before he retires on his 31st birthday in October. Haye is currently scheduled to fight IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in June or July. Haye is hoping that 39-year-old WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) doesn’t lost his next fight against unbeaten Cuban Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) on March 19th at the Lanxess-Arena, Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
Solis-Klitschko: Odlanier in a good position to keep Vitali from Haye fight
By Dave Lahr: Unbeaten Cuban Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) can really ruin WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko’s world on March 19th by beating him, taking his title and keeping Vitali from being an alternate for the fight between his brother IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and WBA heavyweight champ David Haye in June or July.
Vitali could lose to Solis on March 19th
By Dave Lahr: More than a few fighters are starting to doubt whether WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) can get by number #1 contender Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) on March 19th at the Lanxess-Arena, in Cologne, Germany.
Klitschko work rate too much for Solis
By John F. McKenna (McJack): Vitali Klitschko AKA “Dr Ironfist” (41-2, 38 KO’s) takes on his mandatory challenger Odlanier Solis AKA “La Sombra” (17-0, 12 KO’s) on March 19, 2011 in Germany. In all honesty Vitalii has been doing his best to build up Odlanier as a legitimate threat to his title. Solis had a terrific amateur record (227 Wins – 14 Losses) and won the Olympic Gold Medal at Heavyweight in Athens in 2004.
Klitschko-Solis: Odlanier in the fight of his life
By Dave Lahr: Unbeaten former 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) is in the biggest fight of his four-year pro career on March 19th against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) at the Lanxess-Arena, in Cologne, Germany. Solis, 30, has a tough task of facing the better half of the Klitschko brother twin towers and he’s going to have to be at his very best if he wants to get a win against the 39-year-old 6’7″ Vitali.
Klitschko-Solis: Odlanier taking off more weight
By Dave Lahr: Unbeaten heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) is looking like a new man after spending the past month in the Sierra Nevada mountains training and taking off weight for his March 19th fight against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) at the Lanxess-Arena, Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. I’m not a great judge of weights, but I’d guess from looking at Solis’ new physique, he looks to have trimmed off at least 30 pounds during this training camp.
Klitschko vs. Solis: Odlanier’s youth might be the key to this fight
By Dave Lahr: There’s no doubt that unbeaten Cuban Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) is more skilled than WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) going into their March 19th fight at the Lanxess-Arena, in Cologne, Germany. Solis is 30-years-old, nine years younger than the 39-year-old Vitali.
Klitschko-Solis: Odlanier looking a lot trimmer but still too fat to beat Vitali
By Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten heavyweight challenger Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) is starting to look incredibly slim while training for his March 19th fight against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) at the Lanxess-Arena, Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Solis, 30, has been weighing in the low 260s in his recent fights, which is probably around 50 pounds too heavy for his 6’1″ height and frame.
Solis training in moutains to get ready for Vitali Klitschko on 3/19
By Sean McDaniel We may be seeing the very best of heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) when he takes on WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) on March 19th at the Lanxess-Arena, Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. The 30-year-old Solis, who is no stranger to weight problems, has been reportedly training in the snow-covered Sierra Nevada mountains at high altitude to help get ready for his battle against the towering 6’7″ 250 pound Klitschko, according to Dan Rafael.
