By Jim Dower: WBC/WBO cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (15-0, 11 KOs) made it look easy in beating previously unbeaten IBF/WBA champion Murat Gassiev (26-1, 19 KOs) by a one-sided 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night to capture the World Boxing Super Series tournament at the Olimpiyskiy, in Moscow, Russia. Usyk is now the unified cruiserweight champion in holding the IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO titles. Unfortunately, Usyk will be moving up to heavyweight now instead of sticking around to defend against all comers.

By Jeff Aranow: IBF/WBA cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev weighed in at 198 ¼ pounds on Friday afternoon for his unification fight against unbeaten WBA/WBO champion Oleksander Usyk in their fight this Saturday night (live on KlowdTV in the US) at the Olimpiyskiy, in Moscow, Russia. Usyk (14-0, 11 KOs) also weighed in at 198 ¼ lbs. Gassiev looked a little bigger in terms of size when the two of them stood for a face off.

Aleksandr Usyk and Murat Gassiev entertained a big crowd at Tuesday’s public workout in Moscow.

Usyk, however, did surprisingly not do any of the usual skipping, shadow boxing or pad work, but instead waved and bowed in front of the hundreds of fans at the Oceania Shopping Mall.

By Jim Dower: Unless something changes by Saturday, U.S fans won’t be able to see the World Boxing Super Series finals fight between cruiserweight champions Murat Gassiev (26-0, 19 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk in Moscow, Russia. According to Dan Rafael, the Gassiev-Usyk fight still doesn’t have an American broadcast outlet that will be showing it to U.S boxing fans.
