I won’t respect Pacquiao until he fights Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez

Image: I won’t respect Pacquiao until he fights Paul Williams and Sergio MartinezBy Chris Williams: As much as I’d like to get on board with all the Manny Pacquiao fans and drink the kool aid to become one of them, I just can’t because Pacquiao hasn’t fought the type of opposition that I think he should have had to get all the adoration from his lovesick fans. I’m not impressed with Pacquiao’s wins over Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, or Joshua Clottey. I see all those fighters as either shot at the time that Pacquiao fought them are not the same fighters they once were due to recent defeats that they had suffered.

Margarito can really help his career if he destroys Pacquiao

Image: Margarito can really help his career if he destroys PacquiaoBy Chris Williams: Antonio Margarito can really help himself in a big way if he takes Manny Pacquiao apart and stops him on November 13th at the Cowboys stadium, in Arlington, Texas. Margarito’s reputation has suffered greatly because of the hand wrap issue and his loss to Shane Mosley. Right now, it’s probably the major reason why he even got the fight with Pacquiao, because if he was still fighting at the top of his game like he was in 2008, he would probably be deemed too big for Pacquiao to fight.

Prediction: Pacquiao won’t fight Paul Williams unless he looks horrible against Sergio Martinez

Image: Prediction: Pacquiao won't fight Paul Williams unless he looks horrible against Sergio MartinezBy Chris Williams: There is talk of Top Rank promoter Bob Arum considering a future fight between his fighter Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO’s) and Paul Williams (39-1, 27 KO’s) if Pacquiao wins his next fight against Antonio Margarito on November 13th, and Williams defeats WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (45-2-2, 24 KO’s) again in their rematch on November 20th at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I don’t see it happening, though, even though Williams is looking to fight at welterweight and can fight at pretty much any weight class he wants because of his ability to lose and gain weight with ease.

Tapia sees Pacquiao stopping Margarito in the 5th round

By Chris Williams: Glen Tapia (7-0, 5 KO’s), one of Manny Pacquiao’s many sparring partners, think he’s going to stop Antonio Margarito in the 5th round of their bout next month on November 13th. In an article at Philstar.com, the 20-year-old Tapia practically gushes about Pacquiao’s power and ability, saying “For me I think it’s like the fifth. Manny’s not going let him (Margarito) start. He’s going to pop him, pop him, pop him, and it’s going to be done by the time he gets started. It’s going to be a Mosley-Margarito just times 20.”

Why is Roach so secretive about Pacquiao’s sparring? I smell fear of Margarito

By Dave Lahr: If you haven’t already noticed, Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach has put the clamps down on Pacquiao’s sparring sessions and has them under lock and key so none of the media members can see how Pacquiao is doing. My guestion is what does Roach have to fear? Roach has been crowing 24/7 about how Pacquiao is supposed to be stopping Margarito in 8 rounds or less. So why is Roach so secretive about Pacquiao’s sparring sessions if this is supposed to be such an easy fight for Pacquiao?

Khan: “I want to see how good I am against [Pacquiao] the world’s best pound-for-pound boxer”

by William Mackay: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) can’t wait to get in the ring and start sparring with Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO’s) to test whether he’s improved since the last time Khan sparred with him two years ago. In an article at the dailystar.co.uk, Khan says “I haven’t sparred with Manny since I got beat by Breidis Prescott and I did really well against him then. I was quite inexperienced but I’ve gone onto to win the world title and fought some big names, so i think sparring with him this time will be a big test for me. I’m not going to go in there and try to beat him and send a statement. Me and Manny are good friends, but I want to see how good I am against the world’s best pound-for-pound boxer.”

Arum says he doesn’t know if the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight will happen now

By Matt Stein: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum now questions whether the mega fight between unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Arum’s fighter Manny Pacquiao is going to happen due to the legal problems that Mayweather is now going through. In an article at the Ocregister.com, Arum says “With all the legal problems and after that ridiculous, racist rant [referring to the video Mayweather put together on the internet], I don’t know if it happens. It certainly looks like Floyd doesn’t want to fight him. I just think he would feel a lot of emotional trauma if he lost his zero.”
