Martirosyan and Proksa possibilities for Golovkin on August 25th
By Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten junior middleweight contender Vanes Martirosyan (32-0, 20 KO’s) and Grzegorz Proksa (28-1, 21 KO’s) are possibilities for WBA World middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (23-0, 20 KO’s) for his next fight on August 25th on HBO according to Dan Rafael at ESPN. Golovkin, 30, had his original opponent Dimitriy Pirog drop out after he injured his back in training.

By Dan Ambrose: EBU middleweight champion Grzegorz Proksa (28-1, 21 KO’s) could step in to face unbeaten WBA World middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (23-0, 20 KO’s) on August 25th, according to Dan Rafael. Proksa, 27, would be replacing Dmitriy Pirog, who was supposed to be fighting Golovkin next but the fight was cancelled after Pirog injured his back while training in Russia.

Golovkin is looking to get more visibility in the U.S, hence the fight will be taking place there.

There still isn’t a venue as of yet, but the fight is scheduled to take place in the United States.
