By Phil George: Floyd Mayweather Jr. could be underestimating Juan Manuel Marquez in his September 19th fight. Many people are writing off this durable Mexican fighter, making Mayweather the considerable favorite. Is this justifiable? Marquez has humbled Cuban Joel Casamayor and the “Baby Bull” Juan Diaz in his last two fights, which is proof enough that he is one tough cookie. In his two huge fights with Manny Pacquiao, Marquez proved that he has the natural ability to adjust in fights, a quality which all champions possess.

The Perfect Storm Is Forming: Is Pac v Mayweather Possible?
By Mike Burnell: Two of boxing’s supernovas are on a collision course creating the Perfect Storm…if things go “right.” Love them or hate them Pac v Mayweather would be a match of monumental, record setting proportions. What is right depends on who you favor. There is a chance of partial clearing by low pressure systems named Cotto and Marquez.
Would Someone Please Put Mayweather Out Of Our Misery?
By Mike Burnell: The attention of boxing today is squarely focused on the Welterweights with good reason. Though the gladiators of the division may be small in stature they effortlessly eclipse all other divisions and completely embarrass boxing’s supposed glamor (now in shambles) division, the Heavyweights. Simply put; it the most talent saturated Welter division since the Leonard-Hearns era. It is in a competitive landscape that true all time greats had the opportunity to reveal their championship character.
Floyd Mayweather Jr, The Legend
By Liam Brindle: Much has been said of late about Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (39-0, 25 KO’s) and a potential bout with current pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KO’s) with many questions being asked of Mayweather. Why has he taken a fight with a much smaller man? Why didn’t he take a fight with ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley or Miguel Cotto? Does he fear these two fighters? Do they hit harder than anyone he has ever squared off against?
Pacquiao-Mayweather: Manny Needs to Accept Less than a 50-50 Purse split
By Manuel Perez: Floyd Mayweather Jr. made it abundantly clear yesterday in a conference call that Manny Pacquiao would have to take less than a 50-50 purse split if he wants to get in the ring with Mayweather. Pacquiao and his promoter Bob Arum aren’t going to accept less than a 50-50 split, so the chances of a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight are pretty much nil at this point.
Mayweather Not Interested in Fighting Pacquiao Unless He Takes the Smaller Cut
By Manuel Perez: Floyd Mayweather Jr. made it clear today that he won’t be fighting Manny Pacquiao unless the Filipino star takes the smaller cut of the PPV revenue for the fight. Mayweather, 32, will be coming off a two-year retirement on September 19th against Juan Manuel Marquez, and isn’t interested in accepting a 50-50 cut for the fight with Pacquiao despite that figure being the one that Top Rank CEO Bob Arum wants.

By Josh Meador: On September 19th Juan Manuel Marquez (50-4-1 37 KO’s) collides with the former pound 4 pound king and undefeated super star Floyd Money Mayweather (39-0 25KO’S). True boxing fans are routing for this to be a great fight that will answer two questions. One, does Mayweather still have what it takes to the reclaim his crown as the pound 4 pound king of boxing? Two, or does Marquez possess the skills & ability to pull off a major upset, and further his right to be regarded as the new pound 4 pound king?

Mayweather vs. Marquez Rescheduled on September 19th; Dzinziruk-Williams in September? – News
By Dave Lahr: The mega bout between unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez has been rescheduled for September 19th after Mayweather, 32, injured his ribs in training and couldn’t make the orignal July 18th date of the fight. This is good news, however, because ticket sales for the July 18th bout were reportedly anemic with few tickets having been sold for the fight.
What’s My Beef with Floyd Mayweather Jr.?
By Joel Nepomuceno: Everyone knows him. When he retired from the sport of boxing, he was on top, undefeated, considered the number #1 Pound for Pound kingpin. He was called out more during his retirement than when he was active. True boxing fans have argued his place among the All Time Greats. Casual fans either love him or hate him. Even non-boxing fans like my own mom knows him from his mainstream crossover.
