By Sam Gregory: In the main event from the Grand Casino, Hinckley, Minnesota, undefeated southpaw Fernando Guerrero handed Jessie Nicklow the second loss of his professional career in a scheduled ten round bout in the middleweight division. In the first round both men came out establishing their jab feeling each other out, Nicklow lands a solid right hand, both men fight on the inside countering off each other’s jab; Nicklow lands a solid right, switches to southpaw than back again landing his jab to close out the round.
Guerrero Decisions Rosado
By Jim Dower: Undefeated middleweight prospect Fernando Guerrero (13-0, 11 KOs) defeated the tough Gabriel Rosado (10-3, 6 KOs) last night in a eight-round unanimous decision at the Wicomico Civic Center, in Salisbury, Maryland. The final judges’ scores were 77-74, 77-74 and 76-75. Guerrero, 22, was knocked down in the 3rd round after getting hit with a left hand while attempting to land a right of his own. However, Guerrero got up off the canvas and settled down turning the fight into a war and getting the better of the 23-year-old Rosado.
