zaveck43By Jim Dower: In last weekend’s bouts, German based (translation: a fighter who trains and lives in Germany) Jan Zaveck (28-1, 16 KO’s) put in an impressive display of power punching to stop International Boxing Federation welterweight champion Isaac Hlatshwayo (29-2-1, 10 KO’s) in the 3rd round to capture his IBF title at the Wembley Hall, in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Zaveck, 33, knocked Hlatshwayo down three times in the bout, including two times in the 3rd round to get the win.
