Ward could face Anthony Dirrell next instead of Bute

Image: Ward could face Anthony Dirrell next instead of ButeBy Scott Gilfoid: Now that Carl Froch has been relegated to the slag heap, WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward (25-0, 13 KO’s) is ready to get down to serious competition in the super middleweight division. IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (29-0, 24 Ko’s) would seem like the ideal next fight for Ward, but he said yesterday that he wants to wait until Bute has finally proven himself by facing an A level fighter before he’ll waste time on him. Showtime will no doubt work hard in trying to convince Ward to the fight with Bute because this is the fight that they’ve been waiting for.

Anthony Dirrell in WBC elimintor bout against St Juste on 12/2; the winner gets Froch

By Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch could be facing a potential nightmarish opponent in unbeaten number #1 ranked WBC contender Anthony Dirrell (23-0, 20 KO’s) in the near future if the 27-year-old Dirrell beats his next opponent Renan St Juste (23-2-1, 15 KO’s) on December 2nd in a WBC final title eliminator but at the Chumash Casino, Santa Ynez, California. I’m really high on Anthony Dirrell. He’s been kind of overlooked due to his talented brother Andre, but he’s every bit as good but in a slightly different way because he focuses more on offense than Andre. I’d favor Anthony Dirrell any day of the week over the slow, plodding and limited Froch. Anthony is simply a much better fighter with more tools than Froch can ever hope to be. Anthony is just blessed with amazing talent like his brother from birth.
