By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten super middleweight Anthony Dirrell (24-0, 21 KO’s) will be facing the capable Don Mouton (12-6-1, 6 KO’s) in a scheduled 8 round bout at the Cosmopolitan Resort, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Dirrell, 28, hasn’t fought in over a year since his 4th round stoppage win over Renan St. Juste in a WBC super middleweight title eliminator in December, 2011. Last year in May, Dirrell suffered a broken leg and hand in a motorcycle accident.
The tragedy of all this was that Dirrell was going to be fighting for the WBC 168 lb. strap against Nikola Sjekloca in a fight that was scheduled for July. Dirrell would have mopped the deck with Sjekloca had that fight taken place and that’s just too bad because it was such an easy fight.
