By Sean McDaniel: With only a month to go before the first part of the Super Six tournament begins, the build up for the fights between Mikkel Kessler vs. Andre Ward, Carl Froch vs. Andre Dirrell and Arthur Abraham vs. Jermain Taylor are already starting to heat up. All of these fighters are hoping to look good, make a good impression on world boxing audiences and come out of the tournament the winner and perhaps a major star in the boxing world.

Andre Dirrell boxing news
Dirrell: “I know I have pure talent over him [Froch]”
By Scott Gilfoid: Last night, in an interview on Showtime’s telecast of the Andre Ward vs. Shelby Pudwill bout, top super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell (18-0, 13 KO’s) chimed in with his comments on his next fight against WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (25-0, 20 KO’s). Dirrell, 26, has this to say about Froch: “I know I have pure talent over him. I know I have pure speed. He has power. He has never seen a guy like me, never been in the ring with a guy like me. I may lack experience but the one thing I don’t lack is the motivation.”
Philip H. Anselmo Plays The Pick ‘Em Game 2009
By Philip H. Anselmo: What will be the deciding factor in the upcoming Vitali Klitschko— Cristobal Arreola bout? Klitschko’s advanced age and supposed slower reflexes, or Arreola’s weight issues and lack of top-10 experience? That’s easy; Arreola’s glaring deficiencies. Look for Chris to show lots of heart, while for the most part Vitali negates any of his offensive bursts by tying up on the inside and controlling the fight with the jab from the outside. If Arreola plans to bum-rush Vitali early, it won’t work. We’ll see how carrying 250+ pounds around fairs for Arreola through 5 rounds, and from then on, it’ll be all Vitali.

Andre Dirrell vs Carl Froch – Can Skill Overcome Will?
By Matt Flanagan: Say what you like about Carl Froch’s boxing skills and his style of fighting, nobody, least of all Dirrell himself, should be under any illusions that he has the biggest test of his career to date coming up when the 2 meet next month.
Froch vs. Dirrell: Will Carl take Dirrell into deep waters?
By Harlan Davies: The WBC Super-middle champion Carl Froch (25 wins 20 kos) is set lock horns with the unbeaten Andre Dirrell (18 wins 13 kos) on the 17th October in Froch’s hometown of Nottingham. The pre-fight hype and verbal sparring between the two has already commenced and the outcome remains wide open opinion-wise. Their bout will be the opening round of Showtime’s Super-middle tournament and from initial appearances, their bout looks to be an engrossing clash of styles which will lay the foundations for their position in the tournament and ultimately, it may help define their careers.
What Chance Do Americans Dirrell, Taylor And Ward Have In The Super Six?
By Tom Stokes: Talk of the fighter least likely to succeed in the super middleweight super six tournament usually ends up with Carl Froch (25-0, 19 KO’s), the WBC champion who’s considered slow and less skilled than his competition, but what about Dirrell, Ward and Taylor, in my opinion these guys are the weakest link in the competition, and come October these three fighters and the American fans, are going to be in for a shock when they find out what they’ve got themselves into.
Froch: “He’s [Dirrell] a Big Mouth”
By Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is confident and looking forward to his October 17th bout against number #2 rated WBC contender Andre Dirrell (18-0, 13 KO’s) in Nottingham. In an article from the Sporting News, Froch appears to be taken aback by Dirrell’s own cockiness, saying “Dirrell obviously thinks he’s a lot better than he really is. He’s a big mouth and he’s loud and brash but now he’s going to have to back up all that big talk now.”
Can Froch Still Become a Superstar If He Doesn’t Succeed in the Super Six Tournament?
By Scott Gilfoid: Right now, things are going swimmingly in the career of WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch. He’s currently unbeaten, a champion and about to take part in the Super Six tournament starting in October 17th against Andre Dirrell. Froch, 32, is counting on winning the tournament and becoming a superstar overnight.
Will Froch Lose to All Three of His Super Six Group I Opponents?
By Scott Gilfoid: I really like WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch as a fighter. He kind of reminds me of a throwback fighter from the 1940s. That said, I find it hard to see Froch getting out of the first round of the Super Six group I bouts starting on October 17th. Froch, 32, has three tough opponents starting with Andre Dirrell, then Mikkel Kessler and ending with Arthur Abraham to round out the first part of the competition.
