By K.A.B: It looks like UK Fans have been dealt a double edge sword. After the withdrawal of Wladamir Klitschko from his October fight date with Tyson Fury, The PPV fightcard for the Kell Brook vs. Diego Chavez has now been moved to Sky Sports 1 instead for October 24th at the Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, UK. This obviously is good news for UK fans because it was hard to justify that fight remaining on Sky Box office.

Andre Ward’s Enigma Code

ward63545By K.A.B: WBA super middleweight champion Andre “S.O.G” Ward (27-0 14 KOs) should be at the top of the 168 pound tree, his name should be glistening in the Las Vegas lights. However, the only thing that the boxing public around the world can see is the decimation of a once promising career.

Ward’s story should be what dreams are made off. He’s an Olympic Gold medalist in the 2004 Athens Olympics. He started his professional career different to most. Many boxers would be eased into the ranks by fighting no hopers and journeyman.

Chris Eubank Jr bouncing back

eubank55555By Kevin Brown: This Saturday sees Chris Eubank Jr. (18-1) return to the ring against WBA interim champion Dmitry Chudinov (14-0-2). This will be Eubanks first fight since his first career defeat against unbeaten Billy Joe Saunders last time out.

The defeat was a close call and arguably the correct decision! However what was impressive was how Eubank finished the fight. There were moments from round 7 onwards where you were just waiting for Saunders to hit the floor but Saunders managed to stay on his feet and avoid the barrage of uppercuts that Eubank was throwing. Instead of taking an easy fight to regain his confidence like many would Eubank has chosen to fight a live contender so he is taking a big risk. the reward if he gets the win could see him jump into the top 10 middleweight rankings and on the brink of a World title shot.

Anthony Joshua attempts to break onto the International scene this Saturday

joshua673By Kevin Brown: British Heavyweight prospect Anthony Joshua (8(8)-0) returns to the ring this Saturday night to fight for the vacant WBC International heavyweight title against Denis Bakhtov (38(25)-9) from Kazakhstan. This will be seen as Eddies Hearns first step to get Joshua’s name out there onto the world scene and an attempt to get him on the ladder of the World rankings.

It’s interesting to note that although it’s still early days, Hearn seems to be leading Joshua down the WBC route. Perhaps this is where Hearn can see the big fights happening in future, currently Bermaine Stiverne holds the WBC strap, but is due a mandatory fight against the enigma that is knock-out specialist Deontay Wilder.

Burns, Smith, Rose and Warrington in action this Saturday in Leeds

burns7787By Kevin Brown: Eddie Hearn is back with his B squad for this weeks fight night. As usual, this card features a blend of experience and prospects in what should be a watchable, but not surprising night.

Most of the matches on offer tomorrow will feature the ‘light-hitters’ of the Matchroom stable where knockouts are hard to come by with the exception of the hugely talented Callum Smith.
