fury5445By Daniel Mcglinchey: After ongoing discussions continue between rising Heavyweight star Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) and former WBA Heavyweight Champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) Boxing fans are starting to wonder what exactly is going on? Most fans were under the impression the fight was on and were just awaiting the big announcement. But after taking the time to delve into the situation a little deeper it appears that perhaps Mr. Haye’s camp are causing a few problems.

The Hayemaker posted a comment on a social media website earlier this week saying ‘I did everything in my power to get Fury in the ring. Even gifting him a 50/50 split. But big chump won’t sign contract for the fans.’

haye54By Daniel Mcglinchey: Rumors are circulating over a mouth watering match-up between the 2 best Heavyweights Britain has to offer. Will it happen? I think it has to.
David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) has recently pulled out of his scheduled match-up with Manuel Charr due to a suspected hand injury and Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) failed to attend purse bids for a IBF final eliminator with Kubrat Pulev.

Both trainers and fighters have stated that they want this fight to happen its now down to the promoters to get it made, and I believe it is in the process. The main rumour circulating is that the fight will be announced for an autumn showdown September 28th at Old Trafford football ground.

Hughie Fury rising star

fury564534By Daniel Mcglinchey: Young 18-year-old heavyweight talent Hughie Fury (3-0, 2 KO’s) is already looking like an extremely talented boxer at such a young and tender age.

I believe under the guidance of world class trainer and father Peter Fury, Hughie has the capabilities to become a World Champion if he is channeled in the right direction.

After winning gold at the AIBA Youth Championships last year, Hughie turned pro and scheduled a 4 round fight to Canadian David Whittom. After a strong 1st round for Hughie, Hughie pushed on even further in the 2nd and stopped Whittom by landing a mean right hand to the top of the head sending Whittom crashing to the canvas shortly followed by Whittom’s corner waving the contest off.

Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder would be a mismatch

wilder453By Daniel Mcglinchey: A match-up between unbeaten heavyweight contenders Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) and Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) would generate massive interest from the boxing world, the viewing figures would be through the roof and the press conferences would be highly entertaining.

Both fighters have a loyal set of fans that will defend them to the end but they also have a lot of critics. Deontay is from Alabama and a lot of American fans are starting to get behind the Bronze Bomber believing he is the next Heavyweight Champion of the world.

There is no denying Wilder has right hand power as he has dispatched every opponent he has faced. However, the problem is he’s faced nothing but poor opposition thus far. He’s faced pretty much 27 journeyman and Audley Harrison, a man who failed at every level and was beaten by domestic level fighters and was 41 when he stepped in the ring with Deontay.

Tyson Fury options: Pulev or Adamek

fury11By Daniel Mcglinchey: Unbeaten Heavyweight sensation Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) is set to be out again in the summer to continue his journey on the way to Heavyweight stardom.

According to his uncle and trainer Peter Fury his options are Kubrat Pulev (17-0, 9 KO’s) or Tomasz Adamek (48-2, 29 KO’s) for his next bout according to Peter Fury’s social media site. Peter also mentioned David Haye. However, Haye recently signed to fight 2nd tier Manuel Charr, so he’s out of the picture.

Either Adamek or Pulev as an opponent for Tyson would generate massive interest from boxing fans around the world because they are both legitimate and established world class fighters.

Lennox Lewis: One of the greatest ever

lewis32By Daniel Mcglinchey: In my eyes the former Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the world Lennox ‘The Lion’ Lewis (41-2, 32 KO’s) is without a doubt one of the greatest Heavyweight fighters to ever step into the ring.

Born in London, England Lennox always had a keen eye for sport excelling in Football (Soccer) & Basketball. At the age of 12, Lennox moved to Canada where he found a taste for Boxing. Lewis collected a very impressive amateur record of 94-11 and won gold at Olympics in Seoul, South Korea in 1988.

Lewis decided to turn pro and move back to his native England aged 23, where he signed with promoter Frank Maloney. In his first year as a professional, Lewis collected a record of 14 straight wins, 12 by knockout, his 14th win being him claiming the European Heavyweight Title.

Is the Heavyweight division starting to come back to life now that the Klitschkos are nearly gone?

wilder04By Daniel Mcglinchey: After a decade of control by the Ukrainian brothers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko, the majority of boxing fans lost interest in the heavyweight division whether it was down to their boring fight style or lack of competition. Their reign seems to be coming to an end with Vitali looking to go into politics and Wladimir at 37 with not a lot left on the clock.

In my opinion a vast amount of talent and exciting fighters seem to becoming through the ranks, such as undefeated Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev (17-0, 9 KO’s), who currently holds the European title and seems to have the whole of his country rooting for him. He seems willing to step in the ring with anyone and there is no denying he is talented.
