By Puncher’s chance: The upcoming showdown on 14 September at the MGM Grand Las Vegas between Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s), in my mind, is not the match-up the fans wanted.
Canelo is a good fighter but when you look at his previous opponents, they have not been of the highest quality and he has made heavy weather with some. A good win against Austin Trout aside, Canelo has fought guys like an old and shot Shane Mosley, Kermit Cintron who had lost two of his last three before the Alvarez fight, Josesito Lopez is nowhere near world class and two mediocre British fighters in Matthew Hatton and Ryan Rhodes.
