Tank Davis & Conor Benn Agree to Fight, But Will it Happen?

Gervonta Davis has accepted Conor Benn’s offer to fight him next, and he wants his promoter, Eddie Hearn, to start the negotiations.

For fans, it’s hard to believe that the picky, finicky Baltimore star Tank (29-0, 27 KOs) would eagerly choose to face the unbeaten, untested, and largely unknown to U.S audiences, Conor Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) as his next opponent.

Market Concerns

This fight will NOT sell to U.S. audiences because the 27-year-old British fighter, Conor Benn, isn’t well-known enough.

There’s a lot more involved in simply Tank and Benn agreeing to fight. For the two fighters to get the purses they’d be expecting for this clash, this has to be one that can sell on PPV.

This fight won’t be a commercial success in the U.S. because Benn has not had enough exposure to American audiences.

Of course, if they’re interested, the Saudis have the money to put the Tank-Benn fight together. They’ll likely prefer to see Tank face Devin Haney, even though his recent PPV fight against Regis Prograis was an utter failure last December, bringing in a rumored 50K buys on DAZN.

Davis Embraces Challenge

Gervonta Davis: “Sure, why not? Where would you like your [backside] whooping at, bro?” said Tank on X.

Conor Benn: “Oh, here he is, the woman-beating munchkin from Oz. Let’s do it next! Don’t be all talk either, you little shrimp! Eddie Hearn, drop the munchkin a DM and get this fight made NEXT. I’m sure he’ll screenshot the conversation anyway, so we will see who’s full of [stuff]. See you soon.”

Gervonta Davis: “I’ll be waiting, Eddie Hearn.”

Benn looked horrible last Saturday night, struggling to beat Peter Dobson (16-1, 9 KOs) by a twelve-round unanimous decision at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Dobson appeared to stun the 27-year-old Benn several times in the fight and made him look uncomfortable when he put his shots together.

The fight showed that Benn is operating at a domestic level at this early stage of his career and is not a true world-class fighter.
