Boxing results: Ardreal Holmes, Jr. KO’s Marlon Harrington!

IBF USBA Super Welter champ southpaw Ardreal Holmes, Jr., 15-0 (10), #153 ¼, of Flint, MI, stopped Marion Harrington, 10-2 (9), #153 ¼, of Detroit, MI, at 1:25 of the second round of a scheduled 10 rounds.

In the second round Harrington gets dropped thirty seconds into the round with a left on the chin for an 8-count from referee Referee Ansel Stewart. Seconds later a right hook from Holmes drove Harrington into the ropes and came back he fell into punches to the canvas forcing referee Stewart to call a halt.

In the co-feature IBF USBA Light Heavy champ Ali Izmailov, 12-0 (8), #174 ½, of Malgobek, RUS, Detroit, MI, stopped southpaw Britton “Great Britt” Norwood, 13-5-1 (10), #175, of Las Vegas, NV, at 1:28 of the fourth round of a scheduled 10 rounds.

In the second rounds final seconds Izmailov landed a right to the body dropping Norwood for an 8-count from Referee Benjamin Rodriguez. In the third rounds halfway point a right from Izmailov drew blood from the nose of Norwood.

In the fourth round a right from Izmailov landed a right to the body dropping Norwood for another 8-count from referee Rodriguez. Izmailov was all over him until the referee wisely stopped it at the wishes of the corner of Norwood.

Former Nat’l GG champ Super Welter Joseph Hicks, Jr., 10-0 (7), #157 ¼ of Las Vegas, NV, by way of Grand Rapids, MI, stopped Ricardo “Bebo” Villalba, 20-11-1 (8), #155, of Hurlingham, Bueno Aies, ARG, at 0:40 of the fourth round of a scheduled 6 rounds.

In the second round Hicks landed a right knocking out the mouthpiece of Villalba. Fight became foul filled from both. In the third round with twenty seconds remaining Hicks dropped Villalba with a right to the body for an 8-count. In the fourth round again Hicks dropped Vilalba this time with a left to the body for the count.

Middle Da’Velle Smith, 8-0 (6), #162 ¼, of Dearborn, MI, easily defeated Rolando Wenceslao Mansilla, 19-14-1 (9), #162 ½, of Parana, Entre Rios, ARG, over 6 rounds.

In the first three rounds Smith dominated the oncoming wild swinging Mansilla. In the fifth round Mansilla lost or spit out his mouthpiece, In the sixth and final round again Smith goes southpaw and back. Smith started showboating not able to put Mansilla away.

Referee Ansel Stewart Scores 59-55, 60-54 twice as did KH.
Super Feather Cameran “The Problem” Pankey, 9-1 (4), #126.8 of Pontiac, MI, was upset by late sub Juan Martinez, 3-3-2 (0), #133 of Gomez, Palacio, Durango, MEX, over 6 rounds due to a knockdown.

In the first round the 24 hour late sub Martinez was pressing Pankey and out landing him the entire round. In the second round Martinez again took another round with Pankey doing a bit better. In the third round Martinez dropped Pankey with a flurry of punches for an 8-count.

In the fourth and fifth rounds Pankey came back well enough to take both rounds from Martinez. In the sixth and final round it was close with Pankey edging out Martinez.

Scores were 57-56 by all and KH.
