Keyshawn Davis says Lomachenko Not on Crawford’s Level

Keyshawn Davis says that Vasily Lomachenko and Terence Crawford are not comparable in terms of talent and what they have done during their careers. Terence is a better fighter than Lomachenko.

Davis feels that Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) is a better talent than the former three-division world champion Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs), and it’s not even up for debate.

Crawford is a good fighter, but most of his wins have come against lesser middle-of-the-road type victories.

Terence’s best wins:

  • Errol Spence
  • Shawn Porter
  • Jeff Horn
  • Jose Benavidez Jr: Post gunshot
  • Ricky Burns
  • Viktor Postol
  • Kell Brook: Post-eye surgery and Golovkin beatdown

In the two instances where Terence did step up against quality fighters, it was against the washed-up fighters, Errol Spence Jr. and Shawn Porter.

“You’re comparing Lomachenko to Terence Crawford? We’re comparing a 126-pounder to a 147-pounder?” said Keyshawn Davis to Fight Hub TV, talking about his belief that Terence Crawford is a better fighter than Vasily Lomachenko ever was as a professional at any point in his career.

Lomachenko’s best career wins:

  • Devin Haney: * Lomachenko lost by a robbery, but boxing world saw him as the winner
  • Guillermo Rigondeaux
  • Jorge Linares
  • Nicholas Walters
  • Gary Russell Jr.
  • Jason Sosa

“We’re comparing a guy in his weight class that he should fight to Terence Crawford? There’s no comparison to Lomachenko and Terence Crawford,” continued Keyshawn. “So nobody can even say something like that.

“Did Lomachenko stop nearly everybody he fought from weight class to weight class? I’m not discrediting Lomachenko. All I’m saying is there’s no comparison between Lomachenko and Crawford. I’m not saying that because I’m Crawford’s friend. The [records] speak for themselves.

“Look what Terence just did to his biggest competition of his career. He dominated,” said Keyshawn about Crawford’s win over the car crash, weight drained, ring rusty, eye-injured Errol Spence last July.

Keyshawn states that Crawford’s recent career-best ninth-round knockout win over Errol Spence Jr. last July. That win for the 36-year-old Crawford was his first victory over an elite-level fighter.

However, fans believe that the 33-year-old Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) was a shadow of his former self when Crawford fought him, having been worn down from these issues:

  • Two car crashes
  • Weight gain
  • Inactivity
  • Eye injuries
  • Lost ambition

“People got to understand the real in the sport. Lomachenko had an amazing career Terence Crawford is different,” said Keyshawn.
