Ryan Garcia “tired of disrespect,” ready to get serious with career

By Allan Fox: Ryan Garcia says he’s “tired of disrespect,’ no longer cares about social media, and just wants to focus on becoming a world champion.

Ryan’s claim to no longer care about social media is dubious since he expressed interest in fighting YouTuber KSI after watching his celebrity crossover boxing match on DAZN last weekend. If Ryan wants to take his career seriously, why call out KSI? It doesn’t make sense.

It’s doubtful that Ryan will ever win a world title unless he faces a weak champion like Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero because his ability to take body shots is suspect.

Additionally, Ryan’s mandible is too vulnerable for him to get past talented heavy hitters like Gary Antuanne Russell, Teofimo Lopez, Arnold Barboza Jr., and Regis Prograis.

Ryan is 25 years old and is coming off a sixth round body-shot knockout loss to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis last April in a mega-fight on PPV.

He reportedly picked up a $20 million check for that fight, which is good dough for a fighter who hadn’t done anything in his career.

The Golden Boy promoted Ryan Garcia basically traded in his unbeaten record for a payday against Tank, which shows you where his priorities are. It’s the era that we’re in now.

Ryan Garcia no longer cares about social media

Tired of disrespect. I’m fed up, and I’ve been at 50% for so long it will be different. I promise that to myself,” said Ryan Garcia on Instagram, talking about wanting to turn over a new leaf in his career.

“I don’t care about anything but becoming a champion. My eyes used to care about social media and what that did for my career. Now, I don’t care. I’m ready to win,” added Kingry.

Considering Ryan posted over ten times on Twitter last Saturday, and twice on Sunday, it would be that he still does care about social media. Instead of posting on Instagram & Twitter, Ryan should be training and working on his defense.

In the past, Canelo Alvarez mentioned in an interview that Ryan should spend more time in the gym as he was not utilizing his time properly. Following this, Ryan separated from Canelo’s trainer Eddy Reynoso, and began training under Joe Goosen.

Ryan worked with Reynoso from 2018 to 2022. Goosen was replaced by Derrick James after only a year, and it is likely James will be replaced soon too.

On December 2, Ryan will be taking a tune-up fight against Oscar Duarte on DAZN, which could lead to him challenging for a world title against WBO 140-lb champion Teofimo Lopez or possibly Devin Haney if he’s victorious in his December 9th contest against WBC champ Regis Prograis.
