Boxing Tonight: Smith vs Maxwell Start Time, Undercard Info

A thrilling night awaits boxing fans at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena tonight as Dalton Smith and Sam Maxwell go head-to-head for the British and Commonwealth Super-Lightweight titles. This bout will be broadcast live on DAZN worldwide, with the exception of Australia and New Zealand.

For Sheffield’s own Smith (14-0, 10 KOs), this is his second time headlining a fight night in his home city. He seeks to seize the illustrious Lord Lonsdale Challenge belt outright, having claimed the vacant title against local rival Sam O’Maison last August, followed by successful defenses against Kaisee Benjamin and Billy Allington. Smith, widely recognized as ‘Thunder’ and one of the most promising figures in global boxing, aims to annex Maxwell’s Commonwealth Title to his already impressive collection. As he dreams of a World Title shot at Hillsborough in summer 2024, his collection includes the WBA Intercontinental Title, WBC International Silver Title, and British Title.

Liverpool’s Maxwell (17-1, 11 KOs), a former WBO European and British Champion at 140lbs, looks to regain the British Title, having previously won the famed old belt and the Commonwealth crown against Ekeem Ennis Brown in Birmingham back in August 2021. Despite a loss to Alejandro Meneses, he bounced back with a comfortable win over Shaun Cooper in February.
