Boxing results: Tom Dzemski Loses to Daniel “Panthere” Blenda Dos Santos!

By Ken Hissner: At the Kraftverkehr Chemnitz, Sachsen, Germany, Saturday over ESPN Ulfsteinfort (SES Sports Events GmbH) presented in the Main Event German champion Tom Dzemski who lost by majority decision to French champion Daniel “Panthere” Blenda Dos Santos for the vacant EBU European Union Light Heavyweight title.

In the Main Event, German champ Tom Dzemski, 20-2 (11), #174.2, of Goerzig, Sachsen-Anhalt, GER, lost by a majority decision to Daniel “Panthere” Blenda Dos Santos, 21-1 (10), #173.9, of Pont-Sainte-Maxence, Oise, FR, over 12 rounds for the vacant EBU Euro Union Light Heavy title.

In the first four rounds, Dzemski boxed well, while Dos Santos kept his hands held high with little offense in return. In the sixth round’s final thirty seconds, Dos Santos landed a big right rocking Dzemski. He continued on the offense to the bell.

In the seventh round, Dos Santos drew blood from the mouth of Dzemski, controlling the round. In the eighth round, Dos Santos continued on the offense hurting Dzemski with a left hook to the chin with little return from Dzemski taking another round. In the ninth round, Dzemski kept coming forward but working into the counter punches of Dos Santos.

In the tenth round, Dzemski is bruised under the right eye as he is still on the defense. In the eleventh round, Dos Santos was warned for a second time for hitting behind the head of Dzemski. Dos Santos landed an overhand right to the head and fell to the canvas. In the twelfth and final round, Dos Santos had the edge with both looking tired at the end. Dzemski’s face was well marked up at the end.

Scores were 114-114 and 117-111 twice and from this writer.

Roman Fress, 17-1 (10), #199.5, of KAZ and Magdeburg, Sachsen-Anhalt, GER, stopped Roman Gorst, 8-3 (7), #198.4, of Passau, Bayern, GER, at 2:30 of the second round of a 10 rounds for the vacant German Cruiser title.

In the second round, Fress scored a pair of knockdowns with left hooks stopping Gorst.

Super Light Hugo “Fresh Prince” Micallef, 6-0 (0), #141.8, of Monte Carlo, MON, defeated Alessandro Fersula, 9-4 (1), #142.2, of Roma, Lazio, IT, over eight rounds.

In the first four rounds, Micallef was the aggressor, using a good jab to outbox Fersula. In the sixth round, a left hook from Fersula on the chin knocked Micallef off balance in the final minute.

In the seventh round, a clash of heads caused a cut on the left eyebrow of Micallef, with the blood flowing down his face. In the eighth and final round, Micallef came back well from the cut to outwork Fersula.
Scores were 80-72, 79-73, and 78-74, with 79-73 here.

Super Welter Julian Vogel, 11-0 (7), #152.3, of Aschersleben, Sachsen-Anhalt, GER, stopped southpaw Ali Hasso, 5-3 (2), #151.9, of Syria, and Niedersachsen, GER, after five rounds of an 8.

In the first four rounds, Vogel controlled the fight against the shorter southpaw Hasso. In the fifth round, Vogel drew blood from the nose of the game Hasso.

Light Heavy southpaw Adam Deines, 22-2-1 (13), #177, of RUS and Magdeburg, GER, stopped Dmytro Fedas, 8-3-2 (5), #176.1, of UKR and Riga, LAT, at 2:20 of the fourth round of a 6.

In the fourth round, Fedas’s right eye nearly closed, stopping the fight.
Welter Marlon Dzemski, 6-0 (4), #146.4, of Goerzig, GER, stopped Tornike Gikashvili, 11-12-3 (2), #145.5, of Gori, GEO, four rounds.
