Second or third is Wildcat “The Golden Sandstorm” Monte of Wichita Falls, Texas at 273-68-39 (Historian Henry Hascup) or 230-55-41 (box rec) from 1923 to 1937. Then second or third Billy Bird at 260-73-20 of Chelsea, London, UK, is second from 1920 to 1948.
In modern times fourth was two-time world Featherweight champion and IBHOF inductee Willie “Will o’ the Wisp” Pep, of Rocky Hill, Connecticut at 229-11-1 from 1940 to 1966.
In fifth place is Young “King of the Cranebrakes” Stribling, IBHOF inductee of Macon, Georgia at 224-13-14 from 1921 to 1933. Sixth is “Slapsie” Maxie Rosenbloom, IBHOF inductee of New York, New York, at 207-39-26.
