Iron Mike Tyson is a living legend who continues to captivate boxing audiences to this day.

Mike Tyson first busted onto the elite heavyweight scene when he brutally stopped Trevor Berbick in just 2 rounds back in 1986. This marked Tyson as the youngest fighter in the long rich history of boxing to capture a major portion of the heavyweight crown. Tyson soon added the WBA and IBF belts to his collection, seizing claim to all 3 major titles of that day. And he later solidified his status as the Baddest Man on the Planet when he destroyed the undefeated lineal heavyweight world champion Michael Spinks in the opening round. That was vintage peak form Tyson in 1988.

Even after Tyson later lost to Buster Douglas, and then later lost two fights against Evander Holyfield, his aura of invincibility was never completely destroyed. Which led to his showdown against Lennox Lewis, where some observers still believed that Iron Mike had the style that could enable him to beat Lennox. Tyson’s popularity re-emerged last year after he released a short explosive training clip. That led to an exhibition against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr. Their 8 round exhibition from last November generated incredible PPV numbers, proving that people still love watching Mike Tyson.

Meanwhile YouTube sensation Logan Paul has made a name for himself inside the squared circle, where he notably faced another boxing legend in an exhibition earlier this year, when he boxed Floyd Mayweather Jr. The YouTube sensation has quite the following. And now, with Mike Tyson reportedly returning to boxing next February, rumors have surfaced that Tyson may perhaps face Logan Paul. Will it actually happen?

A lot of boxing fans are perturbed by these type of events, where retired former greats and YouTubers turned pugilists are generating interest which some believe detracts from the professional boxers currently competing today. Despite cries from the detractors of these types of matches, both Mike Tyson and Logan Paul have proven there is a market for these types of events.

This edition of Rummy’s Corner will explore the possibilities of a potential boxing match between Iron Mike Tyson and YouTube Sensation Logan Paul.
