By Allan Fox: Without naming his promoter Floyd Mayweather Jr. specifically, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis posted a series of Tweets this week, complaining that he’s not being appreciated by “this man” for his accomplishments.

It’s unclear just how much love he’s expecting to get from Mayweather for him having won the vacant WBA super featherweight title, but it sounds like it’s not enough. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes.
The 23-year-old Tank Davis (20-0, 19 KOs) picked up the vacant World Boxing Association Super World super featherweight title last month in stopping former WBA ‘regular’ 126 lb. champion Jesus Andres Cuellar in the 3rd round on April 21 on the undercard of Adrien Broner vs. Jessie Vargas.

It’s unknown where Mayweather was on the night. There’s been talk that Mayweather wanted to match Davis against Vasyl Lomachenko. Whether this is true or not is anyone’s guess. Davis wants a big fight, and Mayweather would be giving him one if he put him in with Lomachenko, but it would likely end up humbling ‘Tank’ in the process. Lomachenko would be a huge favorite to beat Davis.

. This was the second world title that Davis has captured at 130. He previously held the IBF title in 2017, but he lost the belt after he failed to make weight for his title defense against Francisco Fonseca on August 26 last year.

”Why everything I do this man want to tell Al everything, I buy something he wanna tell…I do something in my personal life he wanna tell..but don’t support me when I fight! SMH,” Davis said on his Twitter. ”Take pics of my tags to see where I get my car from and see how much I paid for it and everything. I’m under someone that just don’t want to see me win.”

Is this the beginning of the end for Davis and Mayweather or can they make things right?

Davis has accomplished big things while with Mayweather in winning the IBF and WBA super featherweight titles. Davis got a lot of attention last year in fighting on the undercard of Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor on August 26 on PPV at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Davis destroyed Francisco Fonseca in 8 rounds in that fight. It was supposed to be a title defense for Davis of his IBF super featherweight belt, but he failed to make weight and was stripped of his belt on the scales. For a lot of casual boxing fans, that was the first time they’d ever seen Davis, and many of them were impressed with they saw. Davis was easily the best thing that the card had going for it, as Mayweather did not look good in staying in 1st gear for 9 rounds before stopping McGregor in the 10th in a fight that arguably should have never been sanctioned in the first place by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The fight should have been an exhibition match in the eyes of a lot of fans. Davis wasn’t as sharp as he usually is, but he was still light years ahead of Mayweather’s slow-motion performance.
