“Lives Matter, Put Down the Drugs & Pick Up the Gloves” Professional Boxing Series at Corbin Arena

CORBIN, KY Retired professional boxer Nate Tubbs is on a mission to bring professional boxing back to the Bluegrass State. The first step in that mission will be complete when the Corbin Arena hosts its’ first professional boxing show in the history of the arena by teaming up with Nate Tubbs Events & Promotions on July 23, 2016.

The show is being sponsored by Hampton Inn- Williamsburg, KY, Firestone- Corbin, KY and Bubby’s BBQ- Corbin, KY.

Nate Tubbs Events & Promotions CEO Nate Tubbs says: “We’ve got a beautiful arena down here and we’re going to utilize it…we are looking to do a lot of shows down here starting with this one”, The first of four shows beginning on July 23rd at Corbin Arena as part of the NTE&P “Lives Matter, Put Down the Drugs & Pick Up the Gloves” boxing series.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to Operation UNITE; a non-profit charity that fight narcotics addiction in Kentucky. The organization helps get people off of drugs, into rehab and helps to put lives back together. “They do a lot of good things around here and I want to be a part of that because lives matter,” Nate Tubbs said.

A special guest at the show, along with former IBF Bantamweight World Champion (1997-2003) “The Cincinnati Kid” Tim Austin, is Nates’ brother, sparring partner of late Kentucky native Muhammad Ali and the former WBA Heavyweight World Champion Tony “TNT” Tubbs.

Former athlete and Hawaiian tropic girl regarded as the best female ring announcer in boxing, Amy Hayes from Lexington, KY will host the show.

Open to the public on July 22, 2016 at 6pm the pre-fight weigh-in will be held at the Hampton Inn 530 Highway 92 West, Williamsburg, KY 42769 (606) 549-3775.
