Is Mayweather’s ‘0’ about to go?

floyd6By Tom Berridge: Pound for pound, king of the ring Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr is in the process of possibly taking up a fight with World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao in order to cash in on the good part of $100 million dollars that he will walk away with when that fight happens next year in 2015.

Let’s look at the options and the facts surrounding his upcoming fight in May.

Realistically Floyd only has two options in Amir Khan and Pacquiao. I believe having watched Khan’s last performance against Devon Alexander last Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mayweather is probably thinking he has just as much chance of losing to Khan as he does to Pacquiao. So Mayweather is dismissing Khan and looking to fight Pacquiao instead due to the fact he will get double the purse than he would if he were to fight Khan. It’s a very simple and logical thought process from Floyd; why risk losing to Khan for $40 million when I can risk losing to Pacquiao for $100 million?

How does it make sense that Mayweather is saying nobody knows who Amir Khan is. Well, that’s a ludicrous statement to say the least. Who is Maidana? I know for a 100% fact that Khan is better known than Maidana in every sense. Who is Floyd kidding? Himself? Khan beat Maidana four years ago by a close 12 round decision in 2010. It’s so frustrating as a boxing fan to have to listen to some of the ridiculous statements Mayweather comes out with, one after the other.

I believe Mayweather has more chance of beating the 36-year-old Pacquiao than he does of beating Khan and that ladies and gentlemen is why Floyd Mayweather the best ever. He is thinking let’s take the money and run, hence the name MONEY.
