However, according to Steve Carp from the Las Vegas Review Journal, the 29-year-old Guerrero also had three high capacity bullet magazines in his possession. They were unloaded.

Guerrero could be facing as much as four years in prison if convicted. Guerrero faces a felony charge for carrying the firearm illegally – i.e., without a New York license.

Guerrero’s firearm, a 40 caliber Smith & Wesson, was licensed in California. However, was not licensed in New York, and that is against New York laws. You can’t bring an unlicensed weapon into the city regardless of whether it’s loaded or not.

According to Carp, Guerrero’s court date for the weapons violation will be on May 14th. This means his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 4th won’t be impacted by this incident. Hopefully, Guerrero will be able to focus on his training for the fight because he’s going to need to put all of this out of his mind so that he can be 100% prepared for the fight.

If Guerrero is distracted by his court case it could potentially keep him from being at his best, and it’ll make Mayweather’s job that much easier. Guerrero is already an underdog for the fight, and this may increase the odds.

Guerrero had been visiting New York to help drum up interest in his fight with Mayweather, and meeting with ESPN.
