This defense should be a lot easier one than Huck’s last fight against interim WBO cruiserweight champion Ola Afolabi, who Huck had to rally to earn a 12 round draw against last May. Huck appeared to lose that fight, but like in his bout with Denis Lebedev, he was able to dodge a bullet and was saved from defeat somehow.

Arslan, a former WBA World cruiserweight champion, is coming off of a draw himself against Alexander Alekseev last May. It’s not normal that you two fighters facing each other with both coming off of draws like Arslan and Huck. However, at least Arslan fought well enough to deserve a decision win in his fight against Alekseev. He didn’t get a controversial draw like Huck did against Afolabi. Arslan really dominated Alekseev on the inside and gave him a real beating until Alekseev finally made adjustments and started using his height and reach to box Arslan in the 11th and 12th. However, Arslan had totally dominated the first 10 rounds and he really should have been given a lopsided decision win, but somehow the judges saw it differently.

Arslan is a good fighter, but he’s not in Huck’s league and he’s probably going to take a beating and maybe get stopped along the way. It’s not easy to stop Arslan, but it’s definitely possible by hitting him with an accumulation of shots. Guillermo Jones and Steve Herelius both were able to take Arslan out in 2008 and 2010.

Huck has the power to do the same thing but he’s going to have to throw more combinations than he’s been doing lately. Huck fought in brief spurts in his draw with Afolabi last May, and that’s now you beat Arslan. Huck will have to pour it on if he wants to get him out of there.
