The Quillin-N’Jikam fight will be on the undercard of the Erik Morales vs. Danny Garcia fight.

Quillin, 29, has been fighting as a pro since 2005 and has spent some of those years at super middleweight. He moved down when it become pretty clear that he’d have major problems with all the other talented fighters at 168. At least at 160, which is one of the weakest divisions in boxing at this time, Quillin has a chance to win a title, even if it’s a paper title against the little known N’Jikam.

Quillin has wins over Jesse Brinkley, Jason Lehoullier, Craig McEwan and Ronald “Winky” Wright. That’s the the extent of Quillin’s important wins. He lacks a jab, inside fighting skills and the ability throw combinations despite being trained by Freddie Roach. Quillin will have to learn do these things if he wants to hold down a title. He’ll likely beat N’Jikam on October 20th, because the France based N’Jikam is very beatable, but Quillin won’t be able to beat the likes of Sergio Martinez or Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Those guys are a level above him in talent right now.

N’Jikam, 28, has wins over Avtandil Khurtsdze, Giovanni Lorenzo and Max Bursak. N’Jikam was very lucky to get past Khurtsdze, as he fought well enough to beat N’Jikam but the judges saw things differently.

If Quillin can’t beat N’Jikam then he’s going to have problems ever winning a world title because it doesn’t get any better than this.
