It’s a move that few other boxers would do, but then again they don’t have the same kind of burning desire to get a fight against Mayweather Jr. like Guerrero does. He really wants that fight, and obviously he wants the money that goes with it. But more than that, Guerrero thinks he can beat Mayweather if given the chance.

The fact that Guerrero is a southpaw and has few fans outside of the San Jose/Gilroy area in Northern California works against him. But even if Guerrero doesn’t get the Mayweather fight when it’s said and done, he’ll be in a good position to face guys like Kell Brook, Victor Ortiz, Andre Berto, Amir Khan, Devon Alexander, and Thomas Dulorme.

Those guys may not bring the same kind of cash that a Mayweather fight would bring Guerrero, but at least he’d be making more money than he did when he was toiling away at featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight. The more a fighter moves the better their money is in a lot of cases. The welterweight division is a big money division, as is the junior middleweight and middleweight and super middleweight divisions. Above super middleweight, there’s only a couple of big names.

Aydin, 5’7″, has the power to wreck Guerrero’s dreams if he fights the right fight against him. Aydin can’t let Guerrero work on the outside and move around the ring all night long like he typically does against his shorter opposition. Guerrero won’t have the same kind of huge height and reach advantage that he normally does when he was fighting at the lower weights, but he’ll have enough of a size advantage to give Aydin problems if he doesn’t keep applying pressure on him.
