Image: Haye to attend Vitali-Chisora fight LIVE tonight to see how Vitali reacts to the slapBy Scott Gilfoid: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye says he’ll be attending tonight’s clash between WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko vs. Dereck Chisora in Munich, Germany.

Haye, 31, wants to be in the Olympiahalle arena live to see how Vitali will react to being slapped by Chisora during Friday’s weigh-in. Haye thinks the slap could work for Chisora or against him in this fight.

Haye said this on his twitter: “On route to Germany as after that SLAP, I’m intrigued to see LIVE how Vitali Klitschko responds. The “Slap” could be the greatest or the worst move ever!”

Haye seems to see things in the same simplistic manner that Chisora does. Both of them seem hardwired to try and use intimidation to do the dirty work rather than coming up with a good plan and taking the pain needed to carry out in the ring. Haye spent weeks playing mental psyche games with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko to try and scare him last July, but when it came to the actual fight, Haye fought like a timid lamb. He didn’t want to fight aggressive or take any chances, and so he ended up looking foolish in losing.

Haye thinking that Chisora slapping Vitali could be something would work suggests that Haye is still stuck in the same mindset where he thinks he or Chisora can intimidate better fighters than them into rolling over. It doesn’t work that way when you face 1st tier opposition. It might work that way for Haye against the old 38 and 39-year-old heavyweights that Haye fought exclusively to get a shot against Wladimir, but that psycho junk failed miserably against Wladimir and it’s going to fail against Vitali as well. To beat Vitali and Wladimir, you have to have T-A-L-E-N-T. Playing domestic level mind tricks are useless.

It doesn’t work and it will never work. It’s just disappointing that Chisora didn’t spend more time coming up with plans to try and win because he doesn’t have a chance in this fight and neither would Haye. I could see Haye playing the same type of games as Chisora and patting himself on the back each night with the things he’s done to try and scare Vitali. But when it comes time for the fight, Haye would be off to the races running around the ring the same way he did against Wladimir.
