Booth thinks it was a ploy that is doomed for failure when an angry Vitali is standing across from Chisora tonight at the Olympiahalle in Munich, Germany.

Booth told the BBC Sport “He’s [Chisora] blown his only chance. The last thing you want to do is pick a fight with Vitali. A cheap shot like that hasn’t got a prayer of working against someone like Vitali. That was foolish. Of course’s Vitali’s embarrassed by it and he will turn that into anger in the fight.”

Booth thinks it was a stupid move because it has no way of working because Chisora doesn’t have any real chance of beating Vitali. Hitting opponents with cheap shots like the slap that Chisora landed against Vitali at the weigh-in only works against guys that are around the same level or weaker than Chisora. You don’t cheap shot some leagues better and think you’re going to get anything from it other than a beating.

This is why it just seemed nutty like Chisora’s mind wasn’t engaged when he thought the idea up to slap Vitali. It’s gotten Chisora attention in the negative sense but it’s not going to make any difference in the ring tonight. He’ll still get dominated and look like he doesn’t belong in there with Vitali. The ending will likely come a lot quicker now that Vitali is angry, and if Chisora was hoping that he could Vitali out, he’s wrong. By the time Vitali is tired from punching Chisora in the head, they’ll be carrying Chisora out of the ring on a stretcher. But it won’t get to that point because Chisora won’t be able to take more than six rounds of punishment at best from Vitali before succumbing to his power and taking a 10 count.
