It looks like two guys from different divisions. Although Adamek is now a heavyweight, his limited size still suggests a light heavyweight/cruiserweight fighter rather than a legitimate heavyweight contender. As such, this fight has mismatch written all over it.

Maybe you can pretend that Adamek will have a chance if you look at Adamek’s last three fights against the big and slow Michael Grant, Kevin McBride and Vinny Maddalone, but not really. Adamek didn’t even shine against those limited fighters and the truth of the matter is he’s too small to be competing with a quality fighter like Vitali.

At best, Adamek might be able to run around the ring all night to avoid his knockout loss, but that’s about all you can really hope for in this fight. He won’t win one round of this fight, because he doesn’t stand in the pocket.

You can’t win rounds or beat the best fighters if you’re unwilling or unable to stand in the pocket long enough to win. Adamek is like a slower, weaker, white version of David Haye. He may have a little more of a willingness to throw some shots, but he doesn’t throw enough and is just about as quick to run away as Haye.

If you look at the two, it’s almost impossible to see a difference other than Adamek’s lack of physical tools that Haye has going for him. This is going to be a mismatch between Adamek won’t stand in front of Vitali long enough to exchange with him. Adamek can’t beat Vitali with his run and peck style. That’s amateur garbage and it won’t work at the upper level.
