Image: Fury weighs 253 lbs for Firtha bout, looks fat around the midsectionBy Scott Gilfoid: Undefeated British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (15-0, 10 KO’s) weighed in at a fat looking 253 lbs for his fight against journeyman Nicolai Firtha (20-8-1, 8 KO’s) on Saturday night at the King’s Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Man, Fury looks like he’s carrying around at 20 pounds of good fat around the old midsection.

I don’t know what happened to Fury’s great diet, but he looks to fat to me. He seems to be carrying around a nice coat of blubber around his gut, and I don’t quite under how it can still be there if he’s training so hard.

Fury has supposedly been following a strict non-junk food diet but looking at the jelly rolls he’s sporting for this fight, I suspect he may have been raiding his refrigerator at night. I can’t imagine having that kind of lard on me and I don’t even fight. I would burn that blubber off in a month of training if I wearing that fat. Did Fury take this fight too lightly or what?

I guess it doesn’t matter how much flab Fury is carrying, though, because Firtha can’t punch and is as slow as the day is long. They picked out the perfect guy for Fury to come into the fight fat-looking. But God, when is Fury going to finally whittle away all the blubber he’s carrying around? He can’t carry that kind of fat and hope to beat the Klitschkos or Robert Helenius, can he? Can you imagine what they would do to a flabby looking heavyweight like Tyson Fury if given the chance? It wouldn’t even be sporting. Helenius would go right after Fury’s old tubby and likely take him out with a big body shot that would have Fury rolling around on the canvas pounding on it with his fists and moaning.

Firtha looks fat too at 247 lbs, but who cares? He’s a journeyman it’s kind of expected.
