Image: Danny Green to fight Krzsztof Wlodarczyk for WBC cruiserweight belt on November 30By Eric Thomas: Former WBA light heavyweight and IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green (31-4, 27 KO’s) will finally be fighting for a major world title at the cruiserweight level when he takes on WBC cruiserweight champion Krzsztof Wlodarczyk (45-2-1, 32 KO’s) on November 30th in Perth.

This will be the first fight for the 38-year-old Green since he was stopped in the 9th round last July by 42-year-old Antonio Tarver. Green had been attempting to set up a rematch with Tarver.

However, Tarver wanted too much money, so Green decided to go in a different direction by taking on the 29-year-old Wlodarczyk. This is a fight that could be about as dangerous as the Tarver fight was, because Wlodarczyk can punch a little and has a good chin and excellent boxing skills.

Wlodarczyk will most likely be immune to Green’s power shots, and the fight could come down to whether or not Green can box his way to a decision. I’m not so certain Green can win this one. Wlodarczyk has beaten quality fighters like Steve Cunningham, Giacobbe Fragomeni and Franciso Palacios and those guys would all give Green huge headaches.

Green may have been better off giving Tarver the money he wanted to fight him in a fight that would be bigger than a bout against Wlodarczyk.

At least a loss to Tarver wouldn’t look quite so bad because he’s well know and has held various different titles in the past. Wlodarczyk isn’t known to the casual boxing fans, and he’s a guy that could ruin Green’s hopes of a big money rematch with Tarver.
