Khan wants 50-50 deal with Mayweather?

By Brad Jones: Amir Khan recently said in a nutshell that he wants a even fight with Floyd Mayweather. If they were to fight, Khan said he is not prepared to just be another opponent (like Victor Ortiz ) and take short money when he comes to the table to negotiate with Mayweather. Khan wants to be on the same level as him.

In my opinion, Khan is forgetting he is still green and is not ready to demand the big boy bucks that Manny Pacquiao and Mayweather are. This is not encouraging to those who want to see this fight. As we all know if Mayweather was reluctant to give Pacquiao a 50/50 share, then he certainly is not going to give Amir a lions share and the fight will not happen, period!

If Amir is deluded enough to think he is or will soon be on the same level as Mayweather and Pacquiao he should remember this . Both Manny Pacquaio and Floyd Mayweather average over a million pay per view buy per fight for years now. And Khan is yet to have his first Pay per view fight. fight. In Mayweather’s last fight against Shane Mosley it generated $78.3 million in revenue and Mayweather’s cut was a cool $44 million of this and American great Mosley revived $6.7 million. Khan has only fought in American 3 time and has has just made his first million dollar pay day so does not yet even bring what Mosley did to the table as Mosley has fought his entire career in the US has started in huge PPV fights

My point being Khan is unrealistic to think that he brings what Manny does to the table when negotiation a fight with Mayweather. Lets not forget he also hold’s the PPV record with Oscar Dela Hoya at 2.4 million and Khan has no record what so ever as he is yet to be in a PPV fight. Its like Audley Harrison asking for a 50/50 fight with Wladimir Klitschko. OKay, not quiet that bad but almost. To me, Khan needs to get in line take the test, take the challengers money similar to what Ortiz is doing and be happy. Fair play if he was to beat Mayweather then he could demand a bigger share but until then I don’t feel he can call the shots when it come to financially
