Wladimir’s jab and right hand looked powerful and his size is going to be huge problem for Haye when he tries to get close enough to land.

Haye looked tiny compared to Wladimir when Haye briefly worked out with a constantly snickering trainer Adam Booth. Haye looked by appearances to be a cruiserweight going out his business getting ready to spar with Wladimir rather than fighting him on Saturday. I hate to say this to all of Haye’s loving fans, but he stands no chance against Wladimir.

I think Haye could beat Wladimir if Wladimir had his feet glued to the canvas in the corner with his left hand tied to his side so that he couldn’t use it, but that’s really only way I could see Haye winning and even then I would have doubts because Wladimir is showing exactly right hand power. The reality is when you have a fighter like Wladimir that is fighting to not get knocked out, it’s going to be all but impossible for Haye to stop him.

I know it might not be pretty to see Wladimir fight a safety first fight, but that’s what he’s going to do and he’s really hard to hit consistently when he’s fighting defensively. That doesn’t mean he won’t be tagging Haye a lot, because he definitely will with his jab. But Haye won’t be able to get past Wladimir’s extended long arms and his famous straight arm to land one of his looping right hands.

That’s all Wladimir has to worry about is Haye’s right hand and he telegraphs it like mad. It’s academic at this point, except for Haye’s blind and loving fans. Haye won’t knock Wladimir out because he won’t let him, and really that’s Haye only chance of winning this fight. Haye is basically a faster, much more timid version of Samuel Peter, a limited guy that only had a puncher’s chance of beating Wladimir. We saw what Wladimir did to Peter recently in stopping him in the 10th. Like Peter, Haye tends to throw a lot of rabbit shots.

That’s really Haye’s only chance of beating Wladimir on Saturday night, but believe me, if Haye knocks Wladimir out with a rabbit punch he will be disqualified so fast you’re head will be spinning. You don’t beat champions with rabbit punches; you beat yourself by getting disqualified. But sadly, that’s Haye’s only real chance of winning this fight and having the referee maybe allowing it. Referee Genaro Rodriguez won’t be ignoring any rabbit punches thrown from Haye on Saturday, so he best keep his punches in the legal area of Wladimir’s head if he doesn’t want to get thrown out of the fight.
