Mayweather has no proof

Image: Mayweather has no proofBy John F. McKenna (McJack): The boxing ring is not the only place that Floyd Mayweather (41-0, 25 KO’s) is ducking the reigning Pound for Pound superstar Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KO’s). “Money” is ducking the “Pacman” in court as well. Earlier this week Floyd’s attorney asked Federal magistrate Judge Robert Johnson to postpone the deposition that he was slated to give on Friday, June 17. The deposition is related to the defamation lawsuit that Manny Pacquiao brought against Mayweather. Floyd wanted the deposition postponed because he believes “it is a distraction” and will interfere with his training for his upcoming fight with Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO’s) on September 17.

Judge Johnson denied the postponement and Mayweather is still scheduled to appear for the deposition. The LA Timers however has reported that Floyd will not show up for the deposition and Pacquiao’s attorneys will more than likely ask for a default judgment in the upcoming weeks.

Floyd Mayweather won’t show up because he knows it is a case he cannot win. He also knows that he would be asked to apologize as Oscar De Lahoya and Golden Boy did and his pride will not allow him to do that. De Lahoya became the bigger man by apologizing and he was removed from the lawsuit leaving Mayweather to twist in the wind all alone.

Mayweather also knows that he has no proof that Pacquiao was on “Power Pellets” and “Roids” and was probably advised not to show up and make a bigger fool of himself.

It has also been rumored that Oscar De Lahoya’s Golden Boy Promotions will be paying for the Mayweather family’s legal bills in this matter and his tax bills as well.

It appears that Golden Boy is so desperate for a power house PPV star they will do anything to pacify Mayweather.

In the long run it is all about the money. Golden Boy is anticipating that spending the millions required to get Floyd out of the jam he’s gotten himself into will be recouped many times over. In many ways though, feeding the monster only makes for a bigger monster.
