If McCloskey beats Khan, where does that put him?

By Stephen Tannock: Amir Khan’s April 16th upcoming WBA title defense against Paul McCloskey is regarded as a tune up fight for a Khan -Timothy Bradley super fight in Las Vegas, New York wherever it takes place. BUT. What about if Paul gets the upset and becomes the new WBA champion were does this leave him? Does he get the fight with Bradley? does he fight the fighters ranked around him like Paulie Malignaggi or Juan Urango. I will look into this.

Now personally, I am gonna be rooting for McCloskey as I am Northern Irish and the thought of a Northern Irish world champion is a very nice thought. There is no doubt that Khan is a world class fighter i mean he shows Manny Pacquiao the ropes in sparring and is a fast fighter and there is still questions over his chin, but most of them were answered during his very entertaining fight with Marcos Maidana. I can see it going one of two ways, Khan out-punching and stopping McCloskey or McCloskey landing a counter punch on khan and stopping him or taking him the distance for a close decision win.

If McCloskey does get the win would this lead him too. Would he then be on the next Ryanair flight to the U.S to sign for a big pay day against Tim Bradley or will he have to would he have to fight the likes of Malignaggi, Zab Judah, Urango, Andriy Kotelnik, Dmitriy Salita the list goes on. I don’t think Paul would have a chance against Devon Alexander or Bradley but the thoughts open up and the same with Khan a win opens up a lot of doors.

Another short article I know, but its better this way.
