Excuses People will use if Mayweather beats Pacquiao

By Robert Elmore: While people around Floyd have been making much noise about Floyd Mayweather Jr wanting $100 million dollars to fight Manny Pacquiao (even though there are several websites with proof that it isn’t just for one fight, but a letter of intent from Don King for a three or fight deal) Floyd and his immediate team have been silent. Recently he said in an interview on examine.com If Pac takes the test we gotta fight But if Floyd wins, these will be the 2 biggest excuses.

1) Mayweather was waiting for Pacquiao to slow down or be tenderized by other fighters.

That might hold some value to it, but at the same time it doesn’t. Arum has been quoted as saying that Manny makes his own decisions in whatever he does. If that’s the case then Pacquiao has the option of taking a fight or two off to rest his body and handle his congress business. BUT HE CHOOSES TO FIGHT. Nobody is putting a gun to his head and say “Fight” It’s his choice. The up side to this is he will be already prepared because he hasn’t taken time off. Mayweather could be at disadvantage somewhat. No matter how much sparring a man does, it simply doesn’t compare to a real fight. In a sparring your partner has let up off you. In a real fight, this is not the case.

2) Mayweather was bigger than Pacquiao.

I for one will not cater to these shenanigans. Pacquiao has been getting high praise for beating bigger men than him (Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito) So handling a bigger Mayweather shouldn’t be a problem “according to experts”. Floyd is the master of making adjustments and taking apart his opponents. He’s definitely has a long reach and height advantage and he has the SKILL to use them. He’s extremely accurate and compu-box can support this. There is no way Pacquiao will throw 1,120 punches against Floyd and not pay for at least two thirds of those with Floyd’s counter-punching ability.

FT: I agree bigger doesn’t always mean better. It takes SKILL to use what you have whether short or tall. Anybody can fight. But guess what? No skill; then it’s useless. Pacquiao is great fighter and I refuse to try and take away his accomplishments because I can’t. But these excuses will manifest if Mayweather wins.
