By Dan Henderson: Pretty boy Floyd is my favourite boxer of all time but I won’t let that cloud my judgment. I want to write a fair argument so I’m not accused of not being biased. I know there is many people who disagree with me because I’ve seen many articles and comments saying he has cherry picked and took easy options and at times I completely agree but tell me a boxer who hasn’t at times taking the so called easy option.
He won his first world title after only 18 fights when he captured the WBC featherweight against Genaro Hernandez. For me, I like knockouts as much as the next man but it’s the way he boxes the defensive displays the way he has the shoulder roll to perfection. He can dominate fighters in a way no other can look at the fight against Arturo Gatti he absolutely outclassed him for 6 rounds.
People often criticize his choice of fights and at times I have questioned his choices to but as I said he is not the only fighter to take easy bouts but he has fought his fair share of greats and he has won every fight some more controversial than others but every top fighter gets gift decisions.
A lot of people hate Mayweather I can understand why people hate him because he is cocky he is arrogant but he has every right to be as he is that good. Whether you hate him or love him you all still buy the PPV to watch him either lose or win so he still making a lot of money.
At the end of the day we all have to agree whether you love him or hate him boxing would be gutted not to have had him to light up the sport of boxing.
