Chisora says even the German people want to see Wladimir lose

By Dave Lahr: Unbeaten British heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) may be doing the German people a huge favor by knocking out IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) on April 30th in Mannheim, Germany. Klitschko, 34, has made Germany his home since shortly after turning pro in 1996.

Unfortunately, Klitschko’s fights have become very difficult to watch for many boxing fans because of how boring he is to watch. Some fans describe a typical Wladimir fight being similar to watching paint dry on an old fence. Wladimir has been able to hold down titles since 2006, mostly because of how poor the heavyweight has been.

But finally after all these years, Wladmir will be facing a skilled heavyweight in the unbeaten and highly skilled 27-year-old Chisora on 4/30. Chisora intends on getting rid of Wladimir and bringing some much needed excitement to the division and make champion level fights watchable once again.

Here’s what Chisora had to say about Wladimir at Eastsideboxing.com: “Even German people want to see Klitschko get beaten. When we were over in Germany, people were telling us they want to see Derek win. This is the most interesting fight Klitschko has been in for a long time and people are slowly coming round to it now. The thing is, we are in it to win it, not just to take part!”

This is bad when your own fans turn against you. I really hope that what Chisora says isn’t true about Wladimir’s German fans abandoning him because he’s so boring. Chisora is going to force Wladimir to be interesting on April 30th, because if Wladimir isn’t going to fight for his pride and respect in this fight, he’s going to end up going out on his backside.
