By Sean McDaniel: On Sky Sports Ringside, trainer Emanuel Steward said that he thinks unbeaten British heavyweight prospect Tyson Fury (13-0, 9 KO’s). Steward, who’s trained great fighters like Lennox Lewis and Thomas Hearns among many others, says that he thinks that the 22-year-old Fury can be the next dominant heavyweight in the sport. Steward recently began training Fury and thinks he can be a special one in the future. Fury is huge at 6’9″ 260+, and certainly has the size to succeed at heavyweight.

Steward said this about Fury: “Tyson Fury will be the next superstar dominant heavyweight much along the lines as Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko. The way that he’s progressing now, I believe he can maybe be the complete package in the heavyweight division because of his talent. I think he can be a tremendous shot in the arm for the heavyweight division in the future.”

However, Fury still looks very basic and pretty sloppy in the short three years of his career. Fury seems to have stamina issues that is a major problem that he needs to fix if he wants to get to the next level. Fury often doesn’t use his reach and tends to do a lot of clubbing in close rather than jabbing and picking his opponents apart on the outside.

Fury showed a lot of progress in his last fight against journeyman Zack Page in December, fighting well for the most part and earning an eight round decision. Fury looked like an improved fighter for the first four rounds, using his jab and boxing a lot like Wladimir Klitschko. However, Fury got sloppy after the 4th round and began to slap and throw punches without any real form.
