By Dave Lahr: British heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) wants boxing fans to arrive early for his April 30th fight against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) in their bout at the SAP-Arena, in Mannheim, Germany. Chisora believes there’s going to be an early knockout and he sees Wladimir as the one who’s going to be counting stars on his back. Chisora, 26, is looking to take Wladimir’s titles back to the UK with a shocking knockout of the Ukrainian heavyweight, who has become accostumed to winning without getting hit all that much. Chisora plans on making him feel pain by landing a lot of power shots on Klitschko’s weak chin.

In an interview at Sky Sports News, Chisora said “I’m coming to fight. Get there early because while you’re parking your car, you could miss a first round knockout. I hope he’s prepared to go where I want to go because I don’t think he has been there yet.”

Wladimir isn’t used to fighting hard because most of his opponents fight at a pedestrian pace, and look either clueless or terrified. The three heavyweight opponent that Wladimir fought in the past that put a lot of pressure on him, Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster, were all able to knock Wladimir out with power shots. Wladimir doesn’t fight well against pressure fighters like Chisora, as he runs out of gas and stresses out too much.

Chisora was supposed to have fought Wladimir on December 11th last year, but Wladimir backed out complaining of an abdominal injury just days before the fight. There was speculation that Wladimir, nervous at having a tough fight on his hands with Chisora, overdid his training and ended up injuring himself due to the stress. We can only hope that Wladimir stays more relaxed this time around during training camp and doesn’t come up lame before the starting line again. Chisora’s confidence and his power has likely got Wladimir quaking in his boots.
