Image: Maidana is going to knock Khan cold in between rounds one through threeBy Scott Gilfoid: I hope Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) fans have a lot of handkerchiefs handy on Saturday night because their hero is going to get knocked cold by challenger Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s) in rounds one through three in this big right at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Khan is going to be like deer looking into the headlights of a steaming locomotive on Saturday when Maidana starts hunting him down in the 1st round.

This is where you’re going to see how different it is for Khan to be facing a killer in the ring instead of one of the many soft opponents that have been force fed to Khan since he was knocked out in one round in 2008. I feel like I’m watching another Enzo Maccarinelli in miniature form. It’s going to be fun to see Khan fall apart mentally in the moments before he’s taken out by a brutal right hand from Maidana early in the fight.

You ever seen someone that has totally gone into s state of paralysis in the face of a traumatic event? This is how I see Khan falling apart on December 11th. He’s going to mentally come unglued and start literally running around the ring without any real purpose once Maidana tags him a few times. It won’t matter that Khan has better boxing skills or that his hand speed is better, because his glass-like chin will shatter each time Maidana tags him with a big shot.

This is going to be a total slaughter as Khan loses his senses completely and starts running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off. Maidana is going to be kind to Khan and put out of his misery fast with a scorching right hand that will cause Khan’s body to go limp like a tall noodle. Khan will then drop to the floor with a jelly-like appearance and just lay there quivering while referee Joe Cortez looks him in his unseeing eyes and then motions for the medical staff to get into the ring to start measuring Khan for a stretcher.

Khan’s trainer Freddie Roach, seeing his future gravy trainer fighter reduced to jelly on the canvas, will look like he just lost his favorite puppy. And it’ll be a sad day for all the Brits watching the fight on Sky, seeing what they thought was a future star reduced to a sickening pile of rubble from one of Maidana’s big right hands.
