Fans just want entertainment, spare them from criticism

By John Henry: Fans, either of sports or other forms of entertainment, are the ones being pleased by the performers. They pay their hard earned money just to be entertained. Entertainers are the ones that bring excitement or shows worth watching unto us, and if they fail to do so, it will be the fans that are going to condemn them. Anyway, it is also these fans that make these entertainers filthy rich.

I just don’t get it why there are people, who in their desperate attempt to discredit a certain fighter, will resort to attacking the fans of that boxer. These people might not know boxing, and it is the duty of the writers especially the media to bring them news, information or anything about a certain fight or a certain boxer. If they feel a fight doesn’t warrant the attention of boxing fans, all they have to do is tell these people why and what it should be. But attacking the fans and telling anything against them is, I would say, the most insane thing I’ve ever read in this site.

Followers of a boxer may dislike the fans of other boxer, they may say nasty things against each other, especially against a certain fighter. But it’s normal, it’s part of being a fan. They are just trying to put their idol “in front” of the other. But what is not normal is for these writers, who are supposed to be the medium between the fans and the fighter, to attack the fans just because they can not do anything against a certain fighter. If you are trying to put a person down, and all your effort proved futile, do you have to resort to attacking other people? That’s insane. If you keep on writing and nobody believes you, will you get mad at the readers? Absolutely no! All you have to do is improve your craft, or better yet, stop discrediting a certain person because it will do you no good.

Everybody is entitled to his own opinion, and he is free to express it. If you feel a lot of detractors are against you, then you can say anything you want against them. But if you are doing it against people who have nothing to do with your failure, then you are insane.
