Image: Bradley-Alexander winner may have to wait for KhanBy Dan Ambrose: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan is talking about fighting other guys next year before he takes on the winner of the January 29th light welterweight clash between World Boxing Organization (WBO) light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s) and WBC title holder Devon Alexander (21-0, 13 KO’s).

It may be that the winner of this fight will have to keep fighting afterwards against other opponents until Khan finally steps up to the plate to fight one of them, if Khan doesn’t get beaten against the opponent he faces next.

But Bradley and Alexander really don’t need Khan to continue to shine in the division. Khan is very likely going to get exposed soon anyway, so it hardly matters if Alexander or Bradley are the ones that put Khan in his place since he’s going to have problems sooner or later due to his weak chin and questionable stamina.

As for who’s going to win the Alexander-Bradley clash, it would appear that Bradley has too much talent for the younger Alexander at this point. Alexander has looked good in fights against Juan Urango and Junior Witter, but he was badly exposed by Andriy Kotelnik in August, winning that fight but struggling the whole time.

In contrast, Bradley has looked much better in beating the likes of Lamont Peterson, Luis Carlos Abregu, Kendall Holt and Edner Cherry. Bradley also has a 12 round decision win over Witter in 2008. Bradley didn’t look as good as Alexander did recently in beating Witter, but he faced him a little earlier than Alexander at a time when Witter was fighting better.
