At the time of the fight, Haye was 23-years-old and appeared not to respect the power of Thompson, as Haye jumped on him immediately battered Thompson for the first three rounds.

However, Haye quickly ran out of gas when Thompson failed to fold and found himself absorbing punishment from Thompson in the 4th round. In the 5th, Haye’s trainer/manager threw in the towel as Haye was getting pummeled against the ropes by Thompson.

Harrison, 38, told the Guardian.co.uk “I’m preparing for a 100% David Haye. He is the same fighter who lost to Carl Thompson. He’s got quick hands, is fast and explosive, but he’s still vulnerable. Nothing has changed.”

Haye has won his last 14 fights, but most of his opposition has been a lot weaker than Thompson and not as powerful.

Harrison will be facing Haye on November 13th at the M.E.N. Arena, in Manchester, England. Harrison is completely convinced that he’s going to beat Haye next month.

If Haye didn’t have a weak chin, you would have to dismiss Harrison’s chances in this fight, because he’s rarely looked impressive against the mostly B level opponents he’s fought during his nine-year pro career.

Haye could have chosen a number of more qualified and arguably more dangerous heavyweight contender to fight, but Haye seems to be looking to extend his title reign by facing guys he thinks he can beat.
