Froch says “I am going to stuff him [Abraham] like a chicken”

By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) was sounding off about his next Super Six tournament opponent the hard hitting Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s), making fun of the crown that Abraham wears and promising him a beating in their fight on November 27th at the Hartwall Arena, in Helsinki, Finland. Froch, as of yet, hasn’t faced a huge puncher like Abraham and it’s going to be fun to see what Abraham can do against Froch’s low guard. The talented Andre Dirrell was able to stagger Froch with repeated left hands to the head in his fight with him last year in October.

Abraham is an even bigger puncher than Dirrell, because he loads up on everything he throws and goes for a knockout with every swing. Froch, as usual, is supremely confident, saying “He [Abraham] wears a plastic crown and a feather coat. I find that very strange and it tells you something about him. He will certainly not be the king after we have met inside the ring. I am going to stuff him like a chicken. I will be happy to give him a plastic crown after I am done with him. He will never get a real crown. And he will not get the WBC Title either. I think he is a good puncher but he is an even better talker. I don´t like to talk much before a fight. I prefer to let my fists do the talking in the ring on November 27.”

For a fighter that prefers to do all his talking inside the ring, Froch sure is doing a good job of opening his yap a lot about his views on Abraham. Every time I turn around, Froch is talking about how he’s going to beat Abraham. I think it’s only going to make things much worse for Froch the more he flaps his gums. Abraham is going to want to hit him even harder and we could have another unconscious fighter on our hands in this fight. I just hope the Hartwall Arena is staffed with a sturdy stretcher and a good medical team just in case Froch gets badly knocked cold in this fight. They have to plan well for this bout, because I wouldn’t want Froch to be left in bad hands.

Abraham thinks Froch isn’t over his loss to Mikkel Kessler in April, and has pointed out that Froch is still haunted by the defeat as he’s had a hard time letting it go. Abraham had this to say about Froch: “All that matters is the head. And Carl Froch better has a clear head on November 27. If not, I will take it off.” Very well said, Abraham.
