Image: Why Shane Mosley beats Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 1stBy Jorge Lugo: Here we go folks, this is fight week! After all the wait we will finally see who is truly the best welterweight today. But wait…. On second thought, hasn’t that been proven already? I think it has! Here now is my reasons why Shane is not only the best welterweight today but as well as to why he WILL beat Floyd Mayweather Jr come May 1st.

Remember the following: There is no way in Hell Mayweather beats Mosley Come May 1st! Simply put, to compare the two is to compare two completely different ideologies of champions. Newsflash: Mayweather lovers, the guy fights for MONEY, period. When was the last time you seen Floyd have a fight with a real challenger? Oscar De La Hoya? Ok when before him? Can’t think of any huh? The facts are there, I am tired of people being so blind. The bottom line is Floyd Mayweather has a 40-0 record from fighting nobodies. Also besides that, none of his “challenging fights” (De La Hoya, Castillo, umm thats it.) were fights that took place in the welterweight class. I find it so amusing to compare Mayweather to the greats when the dude hasn’t even stepped up and fought ANY top fighter in his weight class. That is, until now.

Hence Shane Mosley, who is probably the greatest boxer to come from Califronia. Say whatever you want about the mans age, hair, face, whatever. Bottom line he HAS fought EVERY top fighter in the welterweight division besides Manny Pacquiao (who wanted NO parts of him), and Floyd. But past those two, name one top fighter in the welterweight division for the past 5 yrs that Shane hasn’t fought? I am sick to death of everybody trying to downplay this man’s career. The proof is in the pudding people. Even if by some “God-Given” way, Mayweather does beat Shane Saturday, I guarantee you Shane will still be the one with the Hall Of Fame Record of Fights.

I have heard it all as far as what people are saying about Shane. But people are so quick to forget the heart the guys has. Oh no, he lost to Cotto, Forrest, and Wright, he’s no were near Mayweather then. Huh? LOL! Let me tell you something, Mayweather doesn’t have the size, power and aggressiveness that ANY of those three fighters had to beat Mosley, and that’s a fact that all you guys know. Plus, you couldn’t pay Mayweather 200 million to get in a fight with either of those three fighters in there prime. Something that even though Shane has lost those fights, has done with no regrets as he made them very competitive.

I am sorry America, but if Floyd wins Saturday he will not be the greatest nor the best Welterweight. He has a long way to go for that. But if he wins he def can start his quest on certifiying that claim. But like I said, thats only going to happen in a fantasy world! No more excuses, Floyd. The man took all your little drug tests, heard all your lil rants that you said about him, and dealt with all your B.S. simply with a smile. Come May 1st, the world will see that the last thing to age on a man is his heart.

“I am not fighting now because I need a check, I am fighting now, because these other fighters are saying they are the best but I just don’t believe them,” says Shane Mosley on episode 1 of Mayweather-Mosley 24/7. So this is it, my last article before the fight! So with that being said, I don’t want to hear Floyd is gonna box his way to a win, or this and that. Shane knows what Floyd has, he has wanted to fight him for the last TEN YEARS, and believe me Shane is the hungrier of the two. Boxing world, get ready to apologize to the boxer you looked over for the last 10 yrs! I’m going to leave this article with his. Show me a man who’s passion is his work and I’ll show you a man who’s a master at his craft.
